Soho Hotel, Mayfair London

Soho Hotel is located at the heart of Londons Mayfair and provides prestigious services to high-end clients. ambientAIR were asked to improve their heating and cooling capabilities due to the existing system being beyond economical repair.

Working alongside the Firmdale Hotels Group staff, it was proposed to remove all existing indirect gas fired heat exchangers and install new LPHW coils complete with a brand new boiler system. We would then remove all fresh air electric heater banks and increase the LPHW capacity to include these.It was also decided to introduce DX cooling to all AHUs. Some AHUs already had cooling however the control was only two stage and the areas covered could not be controlled adequately.Mercury Climatic Services installed new DX coils to all AHUs which were served by new modulating remote Hitachi condensing units.

All common areas and rooms within the hotel now have sufficient, reliable heating and cooling systems. Although the project was a logistical challenge, all went well and the client is happy with the end result.On completion of this project, Mercury were then asked to upgrade the centrifugal supply fans on the Restaurant AHU. Mercury offered and installed ECs fans which not only reduced energy consumption but also cut many maintenance requirements: belts, pulleys etc.
