After carrying out a thorough energy assessment of a large store in Queen Street, Cardiff. ETS recommended and specified the deployment of an efficient HVAC system. The client brief stated they wanted to achieve a 10% reduction in their annual energy usage and aim for return on investment in four years. ETS appointed Mercury to install and commission the proposed system.
ambientAIR attended the site to completed an intrusive survey. After finding various electrical heaters in use we were able to offer the following proposal to meet the client brief.New Hamworthy 100KW gas fired boiler system to feed the following:1 x Bakery Calorifier with indirect coil (existing tank was heated direct of immersion heaters)1 x Domestic Calorifier with indirect coil (existing tank was heated direct of immersion heaters)2 x Door curtains(Remove electric heaters banks & retrofit LPHW coils)During the inspection the main AHU supply fan and 18.5kW motor was found to be in a state of disrepair. It was suggested to the client to install a 15kW direct drive AC ‘plug’ fan that performs the same air volume and pressure duties as the previous unit but reduced energy consumption by 10-15%
